The Foothills Equestrian Nature Center, (FENCE), in Tryon has 300 acres of green space dedicated to nature education and nature trails and exhibits, as well as an award-winning equestrian facility.
For the experienced hiker, Green River Game Lands is a 10,000 acre wilderness providing 16 miles of challenging trails. No motor vehicles are allowed in the park. Hunting and fishing are permitted in season.
The spectacular 100 foot high Big Bradley Falls near Saluda can be seen from an overlook across the gorge or from the base. Be sure to take the official, marked trail to the base, as alternate routes can be extremely dangerous.
