History surrounds you at Dr. Flippin's Bed & Breakfast in Downtown Mt. Pilot, NC.  Built in 1896 as the doctor's home and office, the Victorian home is lavishly furnished with period antiques and crystal chandeliers. Collectibles such as Victorian dolls and ladies hats add to the charm of each suite. The Victorian Cottage, originally the doctor's office, is a separate suite with a pie tin ceiling, fireplace and whirlpool tub.

The unique experience of staying in a 100 year old tobacco barn can be found at the Pilot Knob Inn on the east slope of Pilot Mountain. In addition to three suites in the main inn, guests can enjoy the tobacco barn cabins, rustic in appearence, but upgraded with every modern convenience and comfort. Set in a wooded landscape, the cabins feature massive timbers, stone fireplaces, and are furnished with rustic charm.  HGTV, and Our State and Southern Living magazines have featured the cabins in their publications.

Find old fashioned family fun at the Homeplace Recreation Park in Ararat, NC.  150 RV sites with full hook-ups and clean modern bathhouses are located in wooded areas next to an old mill pond.  A swimming pool, separate diving pool, playground, miniature golf course and a rope swing all ensure there is plenty to do for the whole family. Familes may also enjoy Bingo on Friday nights, live entertainment on Saturday nights, and Sunday morning worship services.
