A family trip to Watauga County is not compete without a visit to Tweetsie Railroad, one of North Carolina's best amusement parks. This adventure is a treat for children and parents with plenty of great photo ops along the way.
The Blowing Rock carries with it the tale of an indian maiden and her warrior brave. Legend has it that the brave threw himself off the rock and was blown by the wind back into the maiden's arms. See this one for yourself - beleive it or not.
Grandfather Mountain is another must see attraction near Boone. A 228 foot "mile high" swinging bridge spans an 80' chasm and provides a thrill to cross like no other. Hiking, nature trails, and on-site wildlife including cougar, bear, and others accent the trip.
