With Pisgah National Forest on the western border and the French Broad River through the middle, Madison County is a mountain experience you won’t want to miss.

Ever pick your own black, yellow or red raspberries, Blackberries, wineberries or blueberries? You can (call first for availability) at Zimmermann’s Berry Farm in Marshall.

Prefer a river adventure?  Take a guided rafting tour on the French Broad River with Huck Finn River Adventures in Hot Springs.  Rather pamper your body?  Soak in the natural hot mineral springs in your own private bathtub at Hot Springs Resort & Spa.

If hiking is your idea of an exciting outdoor experience, you’ll find 65 miles of Appalachian Trail in Madison County.  It and many other trails are easily accessible.

Indoor attractions in Madison County include the Rural Life Museum, and the Weizenblatt Art Gallery on the Mars Hill College Campus.  Traditional mountain music can be heard free of charge Friday nights at Marshall Depot.

The Parkway Playhouse is a Historic Professional Theatre Company, and the Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre in Mars Hill produces Summer theatre including moving dramas, comedies, musical theatre, and heritage.
