GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS – Follow the Blue Ridge Parkway through Haywood County and you’ll end up in the most famous natural attraction in the area - the Great Smokies – with 520,000 acres of pristine wilderness. More than 17 peaks have elevations over 6,000’.

HAYWOOD ARTS REGIONAL THEATRE – One of the most active theater companies in the region, this theater attracts guest artists from New York, and actors from Western North Carolina. Located in the Performing Arts Center, HART produces seven Main Stage plays and up to six Studio Theater shows each year.

MUSEUM OF NORTH CAROLINA HANDICRAFTS - Located in the Shelton House in Waynesville, this museum hosts a fine collection of pottery, quilts, baskets and woodworking. The Shelton House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

CANTON AREA HISTORICAL MUSEUM – This must-see museum is devoted to collecting, preserving and exhibiting heritage handicrafts, artifacts, records and photographs of the setting and growth of eastern Haywood County.

WHEELS THROUGH TIME MUSEUM - The Maggie Valley area hosts this museum celebrating American transportation with 250+ rare motorcycles and cars from the early 1900’s.
